SMP is performed with an organic ink, unlike normal tattoo ink it is non-metallic ink which means it isn't completely permanent and has several advantages over other inks.
It usually lasts up to 3-5 years depending on your skin. After some time, the colour starts to fade away. Note that even after all these years, your Scalp Micro-pigmentation does not discolour or spread.
After years of fading the client is recommended to come in for an annual check up & touch up if needed!

Scalp Micro-pigmentation is not a relatively painful procedure. However, the level of pain also depends on the pain threshold of the client. Everyone has a different tolerance to pain. Some are super sensitive, while some do not even feel a thing. So, it varies from client to client. However before the treatment your head is numbed using a numbing cream which makes it help to feel almost nothing at all, 80% of clients give a 3/10 pain rate of how much pain they felt.

SMP treatment involves 3 sessions, 2 weeks minimum between each session.
Each session can last between 2 – 4 hours. You can resume normal daily activities after your SMP session.

No. We use different pigments, inks, machines, needles and techniques.
Scalp Micro Pigmentation is a specialist field of its own and requires a highly experienced technician to achieve great results.

There are three main differences between Scalp Micro-pigmentation vs. Tattooing:
1. We are depositing pigment into the skin at a shallower depth than tattoos, only about 2mm into the dermis
2. We are strictly making small micro dots through pointillism method, not shading or drawing lines
3. We use only a black pigment which is much more diluted than typical tattoo inks. For this reason, it won't break down to different colours or look too saturated once it heals.

We can go through some pictures of hairlines and draw some hairlines on you. When choosing hairlines it is always best to play it safe, not going too low on the first visit. Then on the second visit you would have decided how low you want to go. We can also produce various hairline styles depending on what you like (ie jagged, soft, slightly receding, edged up, lines and designs) Scalp stylist have developed techniques and procedures to ensure your hairline will be in the correct place and suit you and your style.

Yes! By replicating tiny hair follicles inside the scarring and blending the colour around the scarring area, transplant and surgical scars can see massive improvement in concealment.

Scalp micropigmentation is non-invasive and requires no down time. In most cases, you will not need to take any extended time away from work, school, or other functions. After treatment it is common to notice slight redness on the scalp for 2-3 days post session. This redness subsides quickly and most clients return to work either right away or within a couple days. Clients are also allowed to wear hats or headwear should they feel the need.

Depending upon the pattern and extent of the thinning hair, some clients are able to maintain a longer length of hair. Scalp pigmentation can help thicken areas so that less of the scalp is seen showing through. However, if there is a strong pattern of hair loss or just not a lot of hair density left, the client is recommended to crop it shorter.

Yes, those with grey hair can still benefit from the scalp micro-pigmentation procedure. First, most clients are recommended to cut their hair to a short buzzed length. When this is done, grey hair does not appear as grey because the hair root itself is darker. Hair only shows grey as it gets longer. Second, we use a grey-scale pigment that can be adjusted in shade to blend with lighter hair tones. We simply create a lighter dilution for blending into the existing grey hairs.

No, the scalp micro-pigmentation treatment will not grow your hair back. However, the SMP treatment will give you the look of short hair or a tight buzz-cut. We recommend keeping your hair at a shorter length to create the most natural outcome.

The equipment used for a scalp treatment is considered micro-pigmentation or “permanent cosmetic” equipment. There are many different brands and designs and equipment includes a digital power source, a hand-piece, and a disposable micro needles for the insertion of pigment. Most technicians of Scalp Micro-pigmentation use different equipment than standard tattoo artists to ensure the deposits are delicately placed at the appropriate depth in the skin
